Image making has been my thing since I was a little kid. Trained as an illustrator, I realized after graduating from college and beginning to paint other people's stories, that I had to paint my own stories. Narrative portrait painting & photography are mediums I use for expressing the essence of and relationships between, people, animals and places. I have recently been immersed in street photography and video. Capturing spontaneous moments out in the urban world, without any special lighting or set up, has become my passion.

Art is an important way to connect because it touches us in unique ways that otherwise might not be realized. It's a means of breaking the isolation so prevalent in today's digital age, which is quickly leading us away from the natural world. Nature is prevalent and abundant, even smack dab in the center of the city. The juxtaposition of man made metropoles and the natural world is a current theme in my work. I hope my visual recordings serve as timeless reminders of our interconnectedness.
